North East Business Executive of the Year Awards

Nominations for the North East Business Executive of the Year Awards 2005 close on Friday 5th August. The awards are organised by two local papers in the north-east of England - the Evening Gazette in Teesside and The Journal in Newcastle. The awards are open to both the service and manufacturing sectors and will reward business excellence by individuals and companies in the Tees Valley, Tyneside and Northumberland, and Durham and Wearside. A number of big name sponsors are supporting the awards, including Arriva, Dickinson Dees, Newcastle University Business School, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Royal Bank of Scotland and Teesside Business School. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner being held at the Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel on Thursday, October 27. The category of Young Business Person of the Year, open to businesspeople aged 30 or under, is again being sponsored by Newcastle University Business School. This year the winner will not only receive an award trophy from the School, but also a new honour, the David Goldman prize. Named after the late David Goldman, co-founder of SAGE, the prize will be awarded to the North East Young Business Person of the Year at the Goldman Lecture at Newcastle University on November 17th 2005.
