Entries Sought for North-East Building Awards

Newcastle-upon-Tyne publication The Journal is seeking entries from developers and builders in the north east of England to its Landmark Awards. Now in its second year, the awards seek to reward the best work of the region's building industry. They are sponsored by legal firm Watson Burton LLP and supported by Barclays and surveyor Lamb & Edge. There are five categories in the awards, and for each category the panel of expert judges will select one winner, with awards for the architect, developer and contractor. The categories are: residential development; retail and leisure facilities; office; public sector; and residential landscape. Entry is open to developments completed between August 16, 2004, and August 16, 2005. The awards will be presented in a black tie event at The Hilton Newcastle Gateshead on Thursday, October 20.
